James Liu's inspiration for Jinke City Light came from the desire of city dwellers for a connection with nature. He sought to reconstruct the balance between nature and the city through a Co-Life model that embraces nature awareness, humanistic perception, and physical and mental experience. This model integrates high-frequency scenes into people's daily lives, creating a unique living environment.
The uniqueness of Jinke City Light lies in its multifunctionality. By combining elements of landscape, café, community, and daily life, Liu has created a Co-Life Experience Hall. This innovative design not only enhances the usefulness and utilization rate of the space but also continues to meet the needs of the community's residents, generating long-term economic benefits even after its sales function is completed.
The design realization of Jinke City Light is a testament to Liu's artistic vision. The ornament installation, composed of knotted bamboo, merges warm beige and woody tones with green tints. The integration of landscape, café, and community allows people to embrace the vitality of nature in a serene mood. This design, covering an area of 342 square meters, is a perfect blend of art and nature.
The interaction of Jinke City Light with its dwellers is another highlight of the design. The café experience hall serves as a bond between space and dwellers, where poetic light, greenery shadow, natural life, and café culture fit well. Here, people can enjoy a cup of coffee and relax, away from the hustle and bustle of the outside world.
The design of Jinke City Light faced several challenges. The primary challenge was to ensure that the sales office continues to serve the needs of the community's residents after the sales function is completed. Liu overcame this challenge by transforming the space into a Co-Life Experience Hall, following the "market, space, and product" interaction logic and the idea of space serving people's lifestyle.
Jinke City Light has been recognized for its innovative design and was awarded Silver in A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2023. This prestigious award is given to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that demonstrate outstanding expertise and innovation.
